PLAY DAY ON 9/10;
Just found out we are now in the schedule for the Play Day on Saturday, Sept 10 to be held at Peter & Paul. If everyone can be there at 8:30 so we can warm up - 1st game starts 9:00. They are scheduled for 15 min games alternating teams working the games. Last match is scheduled to end at 11:30. This is a fun/learning day so the outcomes do not count in the league. It is also used as a learning day for the line judges / score keeping (what they are learning Friday night).
Play Day As most of you are aware Julia Kivlin (a P&J volleyball player) lost her battle with cancer earlier this year. They have dedicated this play day to her memory and at each play day location, they will be selling chances for a 50/50 drawing to benefit her preferred charity, The Make-A-Wish Foundation. They are asking that all parents & visitors bring their wallets and hearts into the building with them.
Here is the game schedule;
Sunday, 9/11 @ 1:30 @ St. Agnes (IMPORTANT - SEE NOTE BELOW) Friday, 9/16 @ 8:00 @ St. Pope John Paul Sunday, 9/18 @ 3:00 @ ABVM Friday, 9/23 @ 8:00 @ SSJ (required to work the 6:30 game) Sunday, 9/25 @ 3:00 @ St. Joe's Friday, 9/30 @ 6:30 @ St. Joe's (required to work the 8:00 game) Sunday, 10/2 @ 3:00 @ SSJ (required to work the 1:30 game) Sunday, 10/9 @ 1:30 @ SSJ (required to work the 3:00 game) Friday, 10/21 @ 6:30 @ St. Elizabeth (required to work the 8:00 game)
IMPORTANT: Just heard there is a 5K race in West Chester on Sunday @ 2pm. Not sure what roads are being closed (probable Gay & Market & some roads south of Market prior to & after the race. In addition St. Agnes Noon mass will be letting out around 1. Please give yourself some extra time and try & get there as close to 1 as possible. If anyone has any good info on what road to take to get there and would like to share their knowledge, please let me know.
I do not know how many girls are required to work each game (this is what the training Friday night teaches us). Will figure how many & who in the next breath. At least we can get our feet wet before we work & the first work game is at home.
I was given directions to all of these locations but I do not know how to attach to this file. I will print them out and give everyone a copy at practice on Monday night.
UNIFORMS;
I am on my way out to pick up the uniform shirts. I am not sure if they are requiring a returnable deposit for the shirts again this year or not (give your check, get your shirt - return your shirt, get your check back). Will let you know as soon as I do. Don't forget your sneaks, shorts & socks.
If you know you are not able to make the play day or a game please let us know sooner rather than later so we can plan better.
Just to give everyone a heads up on their calendar; We are looking into the Liberty Belle Tournament on Oct 15th @ 8am.; being held at "The Factory" (West Valley Forge Rd in King of Prussia). We will let you know as soon as we hear back.
I hope I got everything! If anyone has any questions/concerns please let me know.
