Prnn Relays

Penn Relays is Tuesday, April 26st, we will be having a run-off at practice on Monday to figure out who will be running. There is a JR. boys and JR. Girls( birthdate 1999 and younger) SR boys and SR girls(1998 and older) The coaches have decided that the 8th graders will run on the SR team.

The races will begin at 6pm at Franklin Field in Phila(University of Penn) Please let us know if your child is able to run.

just heard that our regional championship is going to be Sunday, May 15th @Central Bucks South starting at 1pm. This is for 4th--8th gr. Please set the date. Thank you.

Also there will be practice Monday for everyone(we need some help at practice with the little guys)

Penn Relays will be Tuesday, April 26st. We will be taken 2 girls teams and 2 boys(Jr & Sr) Please let us know if you are unable to attend. Otherwise the coaches will let you know by this Tuesday who is going.

Coaches/Parents:

The start time for the meet on Saturday morning at CB South HS has been confirmed for 9:00AM. Athletes should plan to arrive between 8:30AM and 8:45AM, the coaches meeting will be at 8:45AM. The following instructions should be transmitted to your athletes and parents:

1. Athlete registration for the 100m and 200m will be at the table located next to the paddock area at the south end of the east stands. After the athletes register, they must wait in the paddock area for their heat to be lined-up and called to the track from the paddock area. Last week that proceedure worked very well the 100m. After we got the bantams all on to the track, we then organized the novice, minor and cadet heats in the paddock area and as one heat started off the line, the next heat moved through the gate and on to the track in order.

2. We have been registering the athletes for the 1600m, 800m and 400m on the infield by setting up the hurdles for a small paddock area, getting a head count for each event and then setting up the heat sheets after we get all the athletes together for a particular event. Remind your athletes they shoud bring their sticker(s) with them when registering for all events (running and field). The infield registration has worked well over the last two meets and speeds things up considerably.

3. We will be running an "open pit" for the long jump but according to the following schedule in order to avoid the jam up that occured late in the meet last week.

Cadet and Minor Boys and Girls 9AM to 10AM

followed by:

Novice and Bantam Boys and Girls 10AM to 11AM

The "open" shot put schedule will be:

Cadet, Minor and Novice Boys - 9:15 AM to 10:15AM

Cadet, Minor and Novice Girls - 10:15 AM to 11:15AM

Coaches, also please remind your parents, that during the long jump, they should not be on the infield, but should be behind the fence on the outside of the track. The officials working the long jump told me that there were too many parents standing on the infield along the runway watching their kids jump and it made officiating the event more difficult. Again, please remind your parents of this.

St. Joe/St. Rob - Registration, Paddock Area (100m & 200M), Long Jump, Shot Put and result copies to coaches (we will send out via email so make sure that I have your email address)

Nativity - Finish Line coordination, Timing and Results Recording

St. Albert & OLHC- High Jump

Nativity & OLHC - Infield Paddock (1600m, 400m & 800m)

I will provide clip-boards and recording sheets for all running and field events

If time allows, we are planning to run the 4x100m relay. Please try to have your team(s) together and ready to go at the end of the meet.
