XC First Meet

Fri September 11 2009 @ 10:27 AM

Parents, I just wanted to follow up and clarify some points about the first meet this Sunday. There will be at least 7 races this weekend; we will have a subnovice race that will start at 12:45 for all the children in grade 3 and under. Depending on the number of participants (last year there were close to 500) there may be multiple races. Following the subnovice race(s) will be the Novice Girls, the Novice Boys, Minor Girls, Minor Boys, Cadet Girls and Cadet Boys wrap up the day. The age groups are driven by birth year. My best guess of the timing (assuming one subnovice race) is as follows:

Subnovice 12:45 Novice Girls 1:15 Novice Boys 1:40 Minor Girls 2:05 Minor Boys 2:30 Cadet Girls 2:55 Cadet Boys 3:20

The age group designation is Novice born in 1999-2000 Minor born in 1997-1998 Cadet born btw. 9/1/94 and 12/31/96

There is a website with all the particulars www.philacyotrack.blogspot.com

The Belmont Plateau is located just off the Schuylkill Expressway and Montgomery Drive. Your GPS might want to go to 2000 Belmont Mansion Drive Phila, PA 19131. For me, the easiest way to get there is to go straight down Montgomery Avenue from Villanova, across City Line Avenue to the deadend on Belmont Avenue, make a right onto Belmont and take Belmont to Montgomery Drive, make a left and then another left onto Belmont Mansion Drive to parking. The team meeting location will be behind the starting line, look for the blue shirts.

What should you bring? A chair, a bottle or two of water, sunscreen, a dry shirt for when you are done running. Questions? My cell phone is 856-426-2503, my wife's cell phone is 610-291-8807.
