Meet Today
Sun April 05 2009 @ 08:46 PMAnother great day for the meet. Parents I hope you are having as much fun as I am watching these kids improve every week. The kids did great in all events and the relays were exciting. We will have practice Tuesday and then take a break for Easter. I will try to get the results to everyone for the last meet.
Our next meet is the one before the Penn Relays where we pick two girl relay and two boy relay teams to participate in the Penn Relays we will let the people who are selected soon for these races. It is a fun event to watch as there are teams from the whole arch diocese.
Parents I want you to mark down two special dates May 3rd and May 17th. May 3rd is the region Champs and I want to make sure everyone can make it as the track meet is scored as a team event. This is what the 5 track meets lead up to a final region meet where one team wins the region title. If you cannot make this meet please let me know as the coaches and I have to create a list of kids doing each event. This is where the rule on only three events (four for Cadet) comes into play. St Luke cannot make changes to the schedule once we submit it to the region. In the past I have seen kids leave for another sporting event before their race and St Luke did not get to run that race.
May 17th is the area E meet where the individual kids go and challenge the top 6 athletes from the regions that make up Area E. The competition here gets better. I see a lot of St Luke kids getting to this meet and then going to the Arch Diocese meet. Any questions please let me know
