St Bede's basketball tryouts will take place this weekend.
Tryouts for the region girl's JV team will be held on Saturday, 11/1 from 8am to 10am at St Bede's gym and Sunday, 11/2 from 3pm to 4:30pm also at St Bede's gym. Please arrive 20 minutes prior to the start time.
Players must attend one full tryout to be considered for the region team. We strongly encourage each girl to make both tryouts.
The gym will be closed to the parents during the tryouts. We kindly ask that you pick up your daughter outside the gym.
Based on the number of girls that signed up for JV basketball there will be one region team and 3 parish teams.
If your daughter is selected for the region team she will receive a phone call from me by 8pm on Monday, 11/3. If you do not receive a phone call from me your daughter needs to attend the parish team evaluation on Tuesday, 11/4 at 6pm to 7:30pm at St Bede's gym. The parish coaches will evaluate the girls and the parish teams will be selected. Your daughter will then receive a phone call or email from her coach.
Please encourage your daughter to relax, have fun and try her best at the tryouts. Remind them that this is only JV basketball in grade school. Although it is a great opportunity to make the region team it is not the end all if they do not. Support their efforts and support their love of the game of basketball. St Bedes has a very strong basketball program both at the region and parish level. Encourage them to do their best and have fun. They will learn so much this year at the region and parish level. We wish all the girls could make the region team but we all know that is not feasible.
