A couple of dates to mark on your calendars:
Tuesday, October 21st - Closing liturgy for 40 Hours Devotion. We will be attending the closing liturgy for 40 Hours Devotion. The liturgy begins at 7:00 PM . Players will meet in the parish center at 6:45 and will sit with the coaches. Players should wear their uniforms
Saturday, October 25th - 5:00 PM Mass at St. Katharine's - this is being designated as the Fall Season Team Mass, and all players and their families are encouraged to attend this Mass. Players and their families and coaches will sit together (players in uniforms - if possible at Mass) ....
All Fall sports teams are required to participate in a service project. A wonderful and very much needed service project has been suggested for our teams to participate in this season: The Bryn Mawr Hospital Pediatric Unit is in DESPERATE need of toddler and/or youth DVDs. They are also in need of fun little items to give to the children after they have an I.V. or a procedure done. They would love a deck of cards, a box of crayons, puzzle books, coloring books, etc.
Since we are not organizing any fund raiser the focus should not be on the parents to shell out cash to buy items. That is completely voluntary. If you'd like to buy some of items mentioned above, that's fine. I know we have a ton of VHS and DVDs around our house that we can donate and friends who we can (have the boys) ask for DVDs. I will collect the donated items on Saturday the 25th at the Fall Season Team Mass. Then, immediately following the mass, we will meet in the parish center to have the boys prepare "get well" cards for the kids who visit the pediatric unit.
Also, please remeber practice this week has been moved to Wednesday from 6-7.
